A DOCTOR CLAW OF THE CRUSADERS PRODUCTION 1991 -- ALIAS: IVAR HAGEN,APPELGRAND 5,15168 SODERTALJE,SWEDEN. QUAD PRESENT THEIR FIRST MUSIC DISK QUAD ARE NOW!!! SPRINTSOFT WE HOPE THAT YOU WILL ENJOY THIS MUSICDISK# DEATH BY STEREO% CODING PERFORMED BY IVAR HAGEN MUSIC ARRANGED BY!!! DAN GREEN DBS WAS PIXELED BY G]RAN LARSSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR ALL KINDS OF ARTISTS# TAKE OUT YOUR GUN AND GET THE PIGS ON THE RUN# The way back: 141 K, about 3.02 minutes long. This one contains some really cool multitrack-samples, ie. several tracks recorded to tape and then sampled as one sample and after that cutted up in smaller pieces, to have the possibility to remix them in different order. This is nothing new, but it gives you a possibilty to have more tracks free for other samples... Now playing "The way back" Reborn: 141 K, 4.05 minutes long... I made this one before the summer, I think?! I got some inspiration to this one from the Hip-Hop drumcomp witch I found on one of my LP's... Now playing "Reborn" Happy atomic dude!: 140 K, 2.35 minutes long. Well, I don't know why and how I composed this song, I just did it! Ok?? Now playing "Happy atomic dude!" Miami guitarr: Size: 136 K. Lasts for: 3.14 minutes. Humdidum, the samples in this tune is probably the best I've ever sampled. They are sampled from a Carmen Cane album at 23kHz (I think?!). This one didn't take me more than six hours to finish, but it's great anyway (or...?). According to NoName this tune is the one witch sounds most like a "real" song, maybe he's right, decide for your selves. The name may sound a little strange with two R's in guitar, this is my fault because I spelled it wrong but it looked groovy so we decided to call it "Miami guitarr" (wierd? don't say :-)). Now playing "Miami guitarr" Don't betray me: 138 K, 1.38 minutes short :-). Hmmm, this is the latest one on these disks, made in july 1991. It started with some nice bass-tracks and then some nice accs etc. I think this is a seriously good tune! ENJOY! Now playing "Don't betray me" Jazzy: 100 K, 2.47 minutes long. This is one of my favourites actually! The bass-track is really nice I think and it also have a nice melody. I made this one during the summer vacation '91. Now playing "Jazzy" Aviion: 130 K, 4.22 minutes long. This one was originally just a test, where I tested some nice samples from Romeo Knight's "Furzogue" (The gummibass and some others...). Well, that's all! Now playing "Aviion" RRT: 184 K, 2.31 minutes long. Strange name, strange scroller... Srwaq ngfmn urzx plink flipxz ytrye! Is that understood?! :-) Now playing "RRT" Club mix: 84 K, 2.03 minutes long. This one is also a Jesper Kyd-inspired tune... I made this one after watching and listening to Silent's Global Trash. Now playing "Club mix" W.E.R.T: 70 K, 1.56 minutes long. W.E.R.T? Well, if you're lazy and wanna find a name for your new tune just hit the keyboard and split the text you've got into smaller pieces by inserting a dot between the characters... That's how the name for this tune was "made". This song is a real mini-tune (70 K isn't much, eh?), but it's quite nice I think. Phu, small tunes creates small scrollers, hehe!... Now playing "W.E.R.T." Mutant mix: 92 K, 1.55 minutes long. I composed it after listening to a tune by Jesper Kyd called "a.hiscore" witch inspired me a lot. It's small but nice for your ears and your..... stomach?! :-) Now playing "Mutant mix" Tek-no-tron: 244 K, 4.05 minutes long. It took me about 3 days of not-so-hard work to finish it, and it consists of 95 percent samples sampled by myself, and 1 from a thing (?) called Footsie?! Nothing more to say, just enjoy! Now playing "Tek-no-tron" D-20 disaster: 213 K, 3.34 minutes long. This piece of music was made entierly on the Roland D-20 using StarTrekker 1.2 with MIDI. I can't understand why the guys behind ProTracker haven't included MIDI in their tracker, because it's such a great program generally. But when I have access to a syntheziser, I got to have MIDI, I can't live without it! This tune was made at NoNames place on a late evening in January 1991, and it was finished in about 4 hours, at 4.30 AM to be exact! NoName here... I'm quite bored at the moment, so I think i'll write something about this tune... As before mentioned, it was finished on a late evening (early morning) in January this year (I think!). Dan started composing it the day before the "finishing day", at 3.00 PM something. This was the first time we played with ST and it's MIDI-possibilities at my place, and I can't deny that it's great with MIDI! Even I could make something music-alike with the D-20's keyboard, but with the computer, nope. We rigged up the D-20 between my computer, so you had the syntheziser right to you, and the computer in front of you... Dan was working on the tune, and at the same time I sat leaning against the syntheziser and gave him an infinite :-) stream of suggestions such "How about a fade there?" "Why not use the UserPatterns here?" etc. Thanks to that this tune got this high standard! :-) The tune was finished quite late, and i remember when Dan was going to leave my place and i stood outside the house without shoes in the snow and it was about 15 degrees below zero and we talked about a lot of wierd stuff... I can't really understand why we where standing outside and why the fuck I didn't have any shoes on my feets! I simply can't stop loving this tune, it's simple, but nice! Now playing "D-20 disaster" Intrologic II: 260 K, 2.07 minutes. As you hear this is the intro tune for this musicdisk. What to say about it? Well, the drum sequence isn't sampled directly (?), it's a mix between 5 different drum sequences (took one hell of time to mix)! I worked with it in AudioMaster 3 with cut and paste etc. for about 3 hours! But I think that it was worth the pain and time, because the result is stunning. Now playing "Intrologic II" __ __ _ /_/ /_/ /-/ /_) \ Are Proud To Present A New Music Disk Called: -Death by Stereo- In this scroller you will find instructions how to use this music disk, the credits for it (once more), jokes, our adresses, etc. I guess many people are going to skip the quite unnecessary instructions... How to read this scrolly: Use the arrows above to move the scroller up/ down, or use the arrow- keys on your keypad. Use the 'PgDn' for one page down and the 'PgUp' for one page up. Use (f**ing lots of 'use' here...) 'Cont.' for continuious scroll. Press any of the gadgets above to abort the continuios scroll. Use left or right arrowkey to control the speed of the main scroller. How to select one of the groovy tunes: Just move the mouse- pointer over the window with different song- names. You can move up/down in the songlist by pressing the arrows left to the window. When you have choosen a tune, just smash left MB and WHAMO! It will be loaded! (surprise?? ;-)) If you want to replay a tune that is currently playing, klick once on its name in the song- requester. Something about the equalizer: Over the equalizer there are two windows, 'Equa- lizer' and 'Smiley'. By pressing in the 'Equa- lizer' window you will have an ordinary equa- lizer to watch and by pressing in the 'Smiley!'-window, you will have a "Smiley-look -a-like" VU-meter for each separate Sound- channel. Guess the number of smileys!? :-) How to have a nice game of PONG, one of the oldest arcades! Press the gadget 'Start' Player 1 is the upper "plate" and player 2 is the lower one. Player 1 will control his/her plate using the mouse in port 1 (the pointer will disappear when playing the game), and player 2 uses a joystick in port 2. You will get points when your opponent misses the ball and vice versa. The score counters won't be reset when you quit the game, so you can stop the game and then restart it and have your and your opponents old score left. Klick in the 'Reset'- window to reset the scores. When you wish to quit the game, just press 'Esc'. And now the credits for this music disk!!! Jokes Corner! Joke #1 by Tomas Once opon a time there was an alcoholic called Berra. One day when he had more cash than usual, he decided to go to the licker store to buy some 6-packs of Tuborg. After he had shopped the alco- holics he went down to the city park to drink his beer. Of course, he got so drunked that he passed out. At the same time there was a gay who walked thru the park and ofcourse he saw the sleeping bum. He thought that this was the chance of his life and pulled down the sleeping bums pants... Well, you can guess the rest yourself... The gay thought that the bum should have some compensation for the fun he had had, so he left 20 $ in the alcos pocket. When the bum woke up he recognised that he had 20 $ in his pocket, he got very surprised and went to the licker store to buy some more Tuborg. He went back to the park, drank his beer, and passed out again. At this time the gay was at his way home, and he went thru the park and again he noticed the sleeping bum. Again, the bum woke up with 20 $ in his pocket, and you sure know what had happened. So, the bum went to the licker store again and said that he wanted a 6-pack of Carlsberg. The woman in the licker store recognized the bum, and she asked if he didn't want Tuborg as usual. The bum replied "No, I just get those terrible pains in my ass of Tuborg!" Joke #2 by Micke Eshammar There was a guy who where going to by himself a new MC, and one day he saw an advetsiment in the local paper. He went over to the guy who sold it. When he saw it, he was impressed of that the MC was very shiny, and he asked the other guy how he had got that luster. He said that every time he saw that it started to rain, he went out and rubb it in with vaseline. Well, that sounds like a great idea thought the buyer, and he was wery keen on remembering it. One day he went with his girl- friend to her home. Her family had a special habit, the first one to talk after the supper had to do the washing up. After the supper noone said a word, and the guy thought that if he didn't wanted to do the washing up, he had to do something radical, so he put his girlfriend on the dinner table and fucked her. He was very surprised when noone said a word. Well, "What to do?" he wondered, and since he wasn't very smart, he couldn't figure out to do any- thing else than do the same thing with the girls mother as he had did with her daughter earlier. He got even more sur- prised when noone said a word. Then it suddenly started to rain. He pulled up his can with vaseline and when his girlfriends father saw that, he said "I do the washing up! I do the washing up!!" Till salu: * Extraminne MAST Micro- Megs 515K + klocka. Med on/offknapp. Pris: 200 kr. Ring mig (G}ran) voice p{ 08/6231522 f}r mer info, eller skriv p{ adressen nedan. what i (and probably all of you) wants is a card that you can compare with a 24=bit graphic card but for music with 16 voices and 16=bit resolution$ imagine the modules! nowdays amiga musicians have become so good in simulating more voices than 4 using different technicues and they still have much more to give$ but a card like that would make it a lot easier# i will now give all beginners some hints for producing music that sounds like more than 4 voices### 1# use a lot of accords (it gives your music more volume)# 2# compose your comps in all 4 voices and then dump them to metal=tape or dat=tape$ and then it's piece=of=cake to sample this comp$ and suddenly you have 4 voices squeezed in to one and 3 left free for other things! 3# use sampled drum sequences instead of single samples using only one track to prevent annoying cuts in your drumcomps# 5# try to make small fill=ins in your melody track with a fill=in instrument like a trumpet etc# this is just a few of them$ just use your own imagination# there are two nice trackers availible for you$ protracker and startrekker# if you own a synthesizer then startrekker is to prefer because of it's (up to date!) midi posibilities# protracker is best for editing your patterns because of it's block handling$ transpose$ outstanding sample=editor (compared to startrekker) and much more# here's a note to amiga freelancers: please include a real midi routine in your next version of protracker$ you said that protracker ain't a sequencer$ but i can assure you that it's far easier to compose a song with a real keyboard! but now over to some information about my new music program$ i haven't found a good name for it yet# it will look a lot like the other trackers$ because the way it's built up is so good that it's stupid to change anything$ but with a more professional look on the interface# it will include all usual tracker commands and a lot more$ like reverb for instance# it will also include the following most important things### midi: velocity sensitivity that automatically puts the command c (volume change) in your tracks$ very useful for piano tunes$ pitchbend that puts portamento up or down in the track$ modulation that creates vibrato for you# sampler; seek loop$ correct iff handling etc# does it sound good?
